Root Experience bring a pioneering, interactive exhibition The Hubbub to Brighton Dome this July as part of the Hidden Project

A group of artists living with a range of invisible disabilities from ME to autism have been creating together for eight weeks alongside designers, theatre makers and musicians – this exhibition showcases their discoveries and the beginnings of a national touring experience based on their experiences.

Root Experience invite you to experience The Hubbub with all your senses – we’re not interested in a conventional gallery exhibition - from sound installations to the quiet, safe space of the Den including video, two-dimensional art, storyboarding and interactive sculpture; you are invited to touch, talk, think and feel throughout the work.

A challenging, controversial, and enlightening artistic installation, The Hubbub showcases Root Experience’s Hidden Project giving you a feel for what it is to live in Sussex today with a hidden disability.

There will be open, hosted conversations and provocations around the installation from midday until 4pm, and the creative minds behind Hidden Project will be onsite. We want to know about your lived experiences and what the exhibition inspires you to think and feel. You are The Hubbub.

The Hubbub is designed to help the community to better understand the experience of living with a hidden disability and therefore to become more inclusive as a society. We want to know about your experiences.

Everyone is welcome at this free event that is supported by the Arts Council EnglandBig Lottery Fund and The Betty Messenger Foundation.

If you or your organisation would like to get involved, or to contribute to the Invisible Disability Advocacy Toolkit, please contact Simon our Artistic Director on simon@rootexperience.org
